Owy is a free Android app to track things people owe you. Using this app, you will be able to create a list of things or items which you have lent to other people and keep track of them with ease. You can add as many things as you want using this app for tracking. To add a new item that someone owes you, simply enter the item name, select the borrower, and choose the date on which you have lent the item. Additionally, you can also add images of the item if you want. Similar to other core services (like I.O.U. Mate) which allow you to track things people owe you, this app also lets you do the same, but right on your Android phone.
Another useful feature of Owy is that when you open any item from the list, you can quickly send a message with pre-composed text to the borrower for getting your item back. Do note that this app doesn’t come up with a built-in messenger and instead allows you to send a message via the native Android messaging app, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, etc. It can also send you a reminder after one week of adding an item such that you won’t forget about it.
How to Keep Track of the Things People Owe You on Android:
After installing the “Owy” app on your Android phone, you can simply open it up and start using it right away as no sign up is required. This app comes with a simple interface which makes it very easy for you to add and keep track of the thing people owe you.
When you open the app, you will see a green round button at the bottom of the main screen. Now, you can tap on this button to add new items that people owe you.
When you tap on the green round button, the “Add New Owy” screen will appear where you have to enter the item name, select the borrower from your phone contacts, and choose the date on which you have lent the item to the ower. If you want, then you can also add images of the item, but this is optional.
In the same manner, you can add as many items as you want which people owe you. All the items added by you will be visible on the main screen in an organized manner.
On the main screen, you can tap on any of the added items to view and edit it if you want. To edit the item, simply tap on the “Edit Owy” button at the bottom of the screen.
Apart from viewing and editing an item, you will also see a button named “Send Message” using which you can send a message to the borrower for getting your item back. When you tap on this button, it will automatically generates a pre-composed message which you can send via the built-in Android messaging app, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, etc. As an example, you can see in the below image that I have sent a message for getting an item back via WhatsApp.
It even comes with a feature that can send you a reminder after a week of adding an item such that you won’t forget about it. You can enable the “Reminder” from the app settings.
