Streamup is a free iPhone app to broadcast live shows and watch live video streams. It is definitely one of the best live video streaming apps for iPhone that I have come across. Apart from broadcasting and watching live videos, you can also chat with any viewer or broadcaster while watching their live streams. You might have used many live streaming apps such as Birdplane, Kanvas, and Livestream, but if you want to broadcast interactive live streams with ease, then this app is probably the best option for you. The broadcasting part is also super easy and fast, as you can go live instantly with a single tap.
Another useful feature of this app is that it lets you create your own channel and also discover tons of global channels. It lets you search for channels as Live Now or All Users with popular hashtags. You can follow your favorite channels and get alerts when the broadcasters go live. The global channels are filtered by Featured, Newest, All, and Following (streams from people whom you follow). It also has the option to invite friends to your shows and share live streams directly to Facebook and Twitter.
Note: To use additional features like special effects, sound effects, filters, overlays, etc., you have to purchase the paid version of this app.
How to Watch and Broadcast Live Video Streams, Chat with Broadcaster on iPhone:
Step 1: As soon as you install and open the app, you will see all the global live video streams filtered by tabs like Featured, newest, All, and Following on the main screen. Simply select any tab to watch the listed live videos.
Step 2: Simply tap on any live video streaming to watch it and chat with the broadcaster and viewers. You will see the typing bar at the bottom of the screen while watching a live stream, which can be used to start a chat.
Step 3: If you wish to go live, then all you need to do is tap the “Video” icon at the top of the main screen. After that, it will ask you to define a hashtag for your live stream. When you’re done with entering the hashtag, press the “Go Live” button, that’s all. In a few seconds, you will go live and the built-in camera will open up with options like toggle front and back camera, channel settings, and chat. You can chat with the viewers and the number of viewers is also visible at the top of the streaming screen.
Step 4: To create your own channel, tap the “Profile” icon and go to the settings. In the settings, choose the “Channel” option and upload a photo, give the channel a title (in terms of hashtags), and enable the option “Discoverable in search” such that others will be able to find your channels and follow them. You can create as many channels as you want and broadcast respective live videos.
Step 5: To discover and follow tons of global channels, simply tap the “Search” icon at the top or go to the “Following” tab. You will see two sections named, Live Now, and All Users with suggested trending hashtags. Choose any option to explore your favorite channels and follow them. Whenever the broadcaster whom you follow go live, you will be notified by this app.
My Final Verdict:
