PowrTaskr is a free program which lets you access Google Tasks in a browser window. Google Tasks is a web applet that you access through your Gmail account. It’s the third option down under the big Google image on the left of your Gmail window. Clicking this link opens a small pop out window that gives you access to your task list. Powr Taskr opens your tasks in a full browser window.
Small Download, Tiny Footprint
There’s no installation involved with the Powr Taskr program. Download the file on the Powr Taskr homepage and run it. It runs in the background. As long as you’re logged into your Gmail account in Internet Explorer, hitting the Control key twice in succession will open your Google task list.
Google Tasks
Everybody has a task list. Google Tasks allows you to have access to that task list no matter where you are, as long as you have access to a browser and the Internet. I tried using the applet while logged into one of my Gmail accounts in each of the browsers I use on a regular basis, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. It didn’t work too well until I logged in to my account in Internet Explorer. Clicking the Control key twice in succession will open your task list in a new browser window. But, it’s slow. There really isn’t anything to Google Tasks that should take long to load, but the window took almost twenty seconds to load.
Full Access to All of Your Tasks
Powr Taskr gives you full access to all of the tasks that you have entered previously. It also allows you to add new tasks, modify currently open tasks, and close your tasks.
There’s not really much more to be said about Powr Taskr. It’s tiny and easy to use. It doesn’t add any bells and whistles to anything. It just makes it easier to use Google Tasks.
