Bizagi Process Modeler is free process modeling software to create process models and run simulation of it. Bizagi Process Modeler lets you create models for your business, process, or any work that requires a detailed planning and execution using flow, data, artifacts, swimlanes, and connectors as process designing tools.
With Bizagi Process Modeler you can also run the simulation of the designed model. You can run the simulation at different levels that include process validation, time analysis, resource analysis, and calendar analysis.
I also like that with Bizagi Process Modeler you have the option to create a detailed report of the process model. You have the option to publish the work as .doc, PDF, webpage, and Wikipedia.
I have tested Bizagi Process Modeler for Windows 7 and it worked well for me. Below I have posted a screenshot in which you can see the process model I have created for very general flow process model diagram for testing a prototype.
Working With This Free Process Modeling Software:
Bizagi Process Modeler is very simple to use and it offers a lot of good options for designing process models. On the user interface you have neatly placed tools to draw the process model and publish the work, or run the simulation of the process model.
From the user interface of this BPM freeware, you can easily drag and drop the design component you want and then simply join them using the connectors. You can also add text to the design. The text is completely customizable for its font style and I like that it is displayed neatly in a box.
I have mentioned in the beginning of this article about the simulation option of the process model. I have posted an image below in which you can see the simulation of the design, I posted in the beginning of this article.
I like that you have the option to validate the design before publishing. If the process model has any errors then Bizagi Process Modeler will notify with warnings upon running this tool.
After your work is done you can either export it or publish it. Note that the option to share the design did not work for me.

- Offers very good tools that include flow, data, artifacts, swimlanes, and connectors.
- Option to publish the work in .doc, PDF, webpage, and Wikipedia.
- Recent designs are shown in a neat way.
- Option to import and export the process model as XPDL, Visio, XML, and image file.
- Simulation can be run for different layers.
- Option to validate the design and check the design for any errors.
- Option to lock the design: In this feature the design will be locked and you wont be able to make changes to the design.

Conclusion:
Bizagi Process Modeler is very good software for process modeling. I really like the option to create process models using designing tools that I mentioned in the beginning of the article. Also, the features like simulation, option to publish the process model, and validation are of great help. Overall I like using Bizagi Process modeler.
