BBM is the free official BlackBerry Messenger app for all the iPhone users. It lets you chat with any other user who is also using the BBM, irrespective of the platform he is using.
As we all know that BBM is one of the oldest messengers in the market. Earlier, it was available exclusively for BlackBerry smartphone users but now it has made its way to the iOS platform. The official BBM app lets you do various things like chat, group chat, voice call, send photos etc. You can make as many groups as you want to for group chat.

Using The BBM For iPhone:
The BBM for iPhone can be downloaded either by going to iTunes App Store or by clicking on the link given at the end of this review. You need to have a BBM id for using the app. You can get the BBM id very easily, by simply registering on the app.
When you have completed the registration, the BBM app will generate a unique alphanumeric BBM PIN for you. This PIN is the most important for using the BBM as you can invite and add anyone to your BBM contacts using this PIN only.
You can invite anyone to your BBM Contacts by tapping either on the icon at extreme left or right. Tap on the Invite To BBM option after tapping on any of the two options that I mentioned. You can invite anyone via Barcode, PIN, email, or SMS. Choose the option you want to use to send the invitation.
The BBM’s home screen has 3 options at the bottom of the screen: Chats, Updates, and Groups.
- Chats: You can start chatting with anyone from here. Tap on the icon at top right corner to get the list of the contacts. Select the contact and start chatting. You can also check the history of your chats from here.
- Updates: You can check for any type of updates related with your BBM profile and contacts.
- Groups: You can create groups for doing the group chat from here as well as you can also check all the groups in which you have added yourself.
Making Voice Calls With The BBM For iPhone:
The BBM for iPhone also lets you make voice call to anyone in your contacts. To make voice calls, tap on the three bar icon at the extreme left followed by a tap on the Contacts. Now, tap on the contact with whom you want to do the voice call. The BBM will open the chat window with all the chat messages between the two of you, if any. Tap on the green color icon at the top right corner to make the call. All the calls made via BBM are done over the internet so that charges may be applied as per your internet plan.

The BBM for iPhone is indeed a good messenger to have on your iPhone. The voice call feature of the app is very good as I didn’t face any voice break or any other problems during the calls. You should try this app if you ever thought of using BBM but couldn’t do so because you didn’t have a BlackBerry smartphone or if you are looking for some different messenger app with voice call feature.
