ColorTest is a very simple iPhone app to test color blindness. This app shows you 20 different Ishihara color plates and you will have to identify the number on that color plate. However, the app doesn’t give you the option to specify the number perceived by you. So, you will have to keep in mind the number perceived by you and then match it with the message displayed, as shown in the screenshot above. The message will tell you about how a person with the color blindness syndrome will perceive that Ishihara color plate. There is no detailed analysis report and you will have to figure out whether you have any color deficiency syndrome on your own.
Colorblind Eye Exam:
Colorblind Eye Exam is another free iPhone app to test color blindness. This app conducts an eye test to check whether you are color deficient or not. Once you have completed the eye test, a detailed test report is shown which indicates whether you have any color deficiency syndrome or not. Unfortunately, in my eye test report, this app stated that I may have Dyschromatopsia, which is a disorder of color vision. So, I am planning to fix an appointment with an eye specialist and I will recommend this you to as well if you find any color blindness ailments in the report.
Download this app from the link provided above and then start the eye exam. In the eye exam, you will be shown a total of 24 different Ishihara plates. You have to identify the number shown on the color plate and select one from the options, as you can see in the screenshot above. After the exam is over, the report is shown in which it tells you whether you have any color deficiency syndrome or not.
Color Blindness Test Lite:
Color Blindness Test Lite is another iPhone app to check for color blindness. Like other iPhone apps to test color blindness in my list, this app also uses Ishihara test to check for a color deficient syndrome. You will see several Ishihara plates, and as usual, you will have to identify the number on them. After the eye test is over, you will see the results which show whether you are color deficient or not, as shown in the screenshot above. The app stated that I have a small degree of red/green blindness and to consult with a doctor for a full diagnosis.
Vision Test:
Vision Test is one of the most advanced iPhone apps to test color blindness on my list. There are many other eye tests that you can do with this app like Visual Acuity to check for clarity of vision, Astigmatism test, and, Duochrome test. The best part is that you can take all of the eye tests one by one and after a test is completed, you can see the test results. In addition to these tests, this app can also find a nearby optician for you (not in all regions). To check for the color blindness, this app also takes the Ishihara test. You will see some color plates and you have to identify the numbers on them from the options. After the test is over you can see the color eye vision test. The app tells you if you have any eye color vision syndrome or not. It also tells you about the wrong answer and how people with the normal eye vision would perceive that color plate.
Color Blind Test:
Color Blind Test is the last iPhone app on my list which you can use to check for color blindness. This iPhone app can tell you if you have any type of color blindness or not by taking an eye color vision test. It conducts the Ishihara test for checking out any type of color blindness. The steps to conduct an eye vision test with this app are simple, just download it from the link above and then tap on its main screen. After that, the test starts automatically and you will see an Ishihara color plate from which you have to identify the number. Select a number from the options or the “Nothing” option if you don’t perceive any number from the color plate. After the test is over, you will see a test report and the overall number of correct and incorrect answers. In the report, you will get to know if you have color blindness or not.
