Canva-like Free Online Video Editor
Story Creator is targeting digital creators who create product and marketing videos for social platforms. The editor has a canvas in the middle with all the resources placed on the left side. Whenever you add something to canvas, you get a coordinates panel on the right side where you can pinpoint the position and appearance of that item. From the top, you can pick a video resolution. It offers four following options:
- IG Normal (1080×1080)
- IG Tall (1080×1350)
- YouTube (1280×720)
- Story (1080×1920)
At the bottom, you get a video timeline where you can place your content for the video. To create a video, you can either start with a template from the resources or upload your own video. Then you can drag it to the timeline and it appears in the canvas. Whenever you add something to the video, the canvas is where you can customize its appearance and the timeline is where you can set its position in the video. You can just pick a thing on the timeline and stretch it along to set it’s position and appearance timing in the video. After that, you can preview that by playing the video.
Add Audio
Story Creator itself offers a decent collection of music effects that you can drag to the timeline and use in your video. Whenever you choose a music effect, it shows a popup asking whether you like to add a full-length music effect or trim it down to match your video length.
Apart from that, you can also upload your own audio files and use them in the video. You can do that from the Upload section and then drag and place them to the timeline. You can position the audio file accordingly to match your content but there won’t be much trimming available on the timeline.
Other Resources
Apart from audio and video, you can add pictures, text, and visual elements to your video as well. Pictures you can upload or use the Story Creator collection. In the case of text, you get various text templates that you can customize as per your liking. Along with that, there are progress bars, visualizer, motion graphics, device mockups (iPhone only at the moment), shapes, and emoji that you can use.
Output
When you are done with the editing, you can get the final video by clicking on the “Quick Export” button from the top. This will start rendering your video and show a preview popup on the screen. The popup gives you a link to the video along with an option to download it locally in the MP4 file format. Despite the resolution, the final video would in standard quality with the free plan.
