The Storybook Factory is a website with online animated storybooks for kids which tries to inculcate a habit of reading in your child by making reading more fun and engaging. Reading has a profound impact on a person and making kids get into a habit of reading at an early age can help them a lot. Specially now days when kids are more interested in video games, and TV, we need to develop a habit of reading in them. This website will help you achieve that, by simply offering you stories which are animated and will engage the kids immediately.
The website has a simple interface which is easy to follow. When you land on the website, you will see a page like the one shown in the screenshot below.
You need to create an account with the website to start browsing story books on the websites. Just enter a username, password and a valid email address. Now you will be taken to your dashboard where you can see the books available for you to read. This can be seen in the screenshot below.
The available books are put under different categories like animals, friendship, adventure, imaginative, playtime, draw, and entertaining. The free version only covers a few books which you can read from the first category on the top of the page which says “free books”. You can also sign up for the premium version to get access to all the books on the website.
Click on one of the free books and it will open up in read mode. The read mode can be seen in the screenshot above. You can read a book in theater mode as well which will make the story book full screen. The theater mode icon can be accessed from the bottom right corner. For going to next page use the arrow icon at the right of the screen. To close the read mode click the cross icon towards the bottom left corner.
Read the story and you will come across some animated elements in the story which make the story reading fun. After you are done reading the story, you can do some activities like answer questions and play games.
Answering questions make sure that kids have understood the story and they will also remember the story for a long time. The questions are all multiple choice and you have to pick the right answer from the multiple given ones. The games with the story are memory or matching games which is a pretty good brain exercise for the kids. The games can also help improve a child’s vocabulary.
Below the games tiles you will also see a vocabulary section where you can find explanations or definitions of characters / words in the story. There is a mic icon at the end of each box as can be seen in the screenshot above. This mic icon can be used to check out the pronunciation of the word mentioned.
