Mailr is a free Blockchain based email marketing tool. Here this tool lets you send out emails from a secure Blockchain based platform called Blockstack. Here you are the one which is in charge of your own email list and campaigns data. However, for free you cannot upload an email list as of now. You can only send emails by creating a list there and if you want then you can use your own SMTP server to send out emails, however, this seems to be broken at this time but will be fixed soon.
Currently, it is using Sendgrid to send out email campaigns. But later this will be limited in the free plan and you will have to use your own SMTP server to send out emails. Here it lets you create email list and gives you a simple interface to analyze the email campaigns that you have send so far. Overall the interface is simple and it has only included some really useful modules. The best advantage here it that it is Blockchain based so you get security and data ownership.
Blockchain Based Email Marketing Tool:
To start using this email marketing tool, you will have to sign up for a free account. Do note that here you will have to sign in using your Blockstack account. And if you don’t have that then creates a new Blockstack id here. Next, you just verify it and then you will reach main interface as you can see in the screenshot below.
Now, the first thing here you have to configure is the mail sending part. Either choose the hosted email server that is Sendgrid in this case. If you want to use your own SMTP servers, then you will have to specify the SMTP credentials there. After specifying this, you can simply move on to create a template and then create an email list.
In the Emails section, create an email template and then from the Lists section, you will have to create an email list. Here initially you will get one template that you can fully customize. It offers you a nice template builder that you can use. And after you have created a template, simply create an email list. In the email list, you will have to specify the email addresses of recipients along with their name, and organization.
Now at this point you are ready to send emails with Mailr. Simply create a campaign in the “Emails” section by giving it a name and choose the list and template you want to use for the campaign. Simple as that. Also, here take a note that the name of the campaign will be sent as the subject line in the email.
In this way, you can use this simple Blockchain based email marketing tool to send emails. There are some limitations in the free plan and or maybe in future but it is useful for sending small or medium size campaigns. Currently, the functionality is fully free but in future there will be limits in the free plan. And I will advise you to use your own SMTP server to send out emails.
Final thoughts
If you are looking for a secure email marketing tool then Mailr is one that you can use. However, this is not really a good option to be used at enterprise level. For small or personal work you can use it to send emails and get stats. The advantage here is that you own your data and the backend doesn’t have any data to collect or leak.
