This article covers a free GitHub-based blog writing platform for developers. A GitHub repository contains multiple files that can be confusing for a user who doesn’t have any background knowledge. With this platform, you can bring all your project together and makes them easy to understand for everyone.
GitPress is a free blogging platform which syncs content directly from the GitHub. This website makes the process of managing blogs very easy for developers. With GitPress, you don’t have to spend time on writing posts and adding relevant screenshots and links.
GitHub repository contains a markdown file that helps the users understand a project better; this file provides detailed information about the project and/or how it works. This website uses that markdown file for the blog post. You can just select and import the markdown file from your GitHub repository and it will automatically change that to a blog post.

GitHub-based Blog Writing Platform for Developers
The process of making blog posts with GitPress is simple and straightforward. You can log on to this platform using your GitHub account. In doing so, it asks you permission to access your repositories from GitHub. Now, you can either allow it to access all your GitHub or, limit it to your public repositories only.
Once you complete the log on and gives the permission, you get a welcome screen. This welcome screen is the first step to create a blog post using your GitHub repository. It gives you two dropdowns; one to select the repository and other to select the location in the repository where the markdown file is located.
Once you input appropriate information in the dropdowns, it takes you to your GitPress page and starts generating the post from the selected markdown file. Within a few seconds, it generates the post and saves that to your GitPress account. Similarly, you can create any number of blog posts for all your GitHub repositories.
The post has an Article Outline on the right that contains a jump-to index of the entire post. On the left side, it has social media buttons to share the post on Twitter and Facebook. In the main content, it also keeps all the rich text and media from the original markdown file. This platform uses a code evaluator powered by Code-Knack that lets users run the code snippets online within the blog.
