Soundcloud doesn’t give you an option to listen to music based on genre. You can search for a particular genre and you will get suggestions for the same. But there is no easy way to listen to music from a particular genre on Soundcloud. This is why we are discussing Mixmatic, to know how to stream music from Soundcloud for a particular genre.
Mixmatic is a free website which let’s you stream music from Soundcloud for a particular genre. Some of the genre listed on the website are techno, drum and bass, bass, trance, EDM, disco, tech house, electro house, minimal, etc.
The home page of the website looks pretty minimal. All you need to do is select the genre you are interested in from the drop down menu.
As soon as you select a genre, you will be directed to a page as shown in the screenshot below.
A Music track from your selected genre will be streamed from Soundcloud and will show up on your screen. You can press the play button on the right to start listening to the track. The page will also show the name and singer of the track you are listening to. You will also be able to see the total time duration of the mix that you are listening to.
The next button at the bottom of this music player is for going to the next track in the list. In case you don’t like the one you are listening to, click on the next button to go to another track.
On the left side of the next button you can see the genre drop down. So you can easily change the genre from here to go to another one. If you want to search for music based on your favorites then try out Gnoosic which suggests you new music based on your favorite singers or bands.
If you like a track, you have the option to share it with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. You can also mark it as favorite on the Soundcloud website. As the music is streamed through Soundcloud, you need to sign in to your Soundcloud account to mark a track favorite.
