Here’s a list of 5 sketching apps for Android which can be used to create sketches from photos. Sketches are hard to make, especially if you have no talent whatsoever like yours truly. Luckily we’ve reached a point where, to repeat that famous line, “there’s an app for that”. So today I’ve decided to create a list of 5 sketching apps for Android that convert photos to sketches.
Let’s see the apps I found.
Sketch Guru
Sketch Guru doesn’t require you to be have any kind of talent whatsoever, except the talent for tapping on screens of Android tablets and smartphones.
Images for conversion can be created using the camera or you can select existing images from the gallery. There’s dozens of different types of sketching effects that you can apply, look in the sketch effect strip at the bottom of the screen. Pastel, pencil, crayon effects, several types are available.

Pencil Sketch
Pencil Sketch has a smaller selection of sketch effects, but the two types of sketch conversions that it has are amazingly good looking.
Top right corner lets you select between the more precise (precise in terms of lines) sketch and the not so precise doodles. Bottom left corner on the other hand lets you choose between black and white sketch and color sketch. In the top left corner there’s a button that takes you to the frame adder where you can add frames to the created sketches before saving them and sharing via social network apps.

Photo Sketch by Arthisoft
Photo Sketch comes packaged with 5 types of sketch conversion effects, they can be seen in the toolbar strip underneath the opened image on the screenshot above.
Images can here also be loaded from the gallery or new ones created with the camera. Sketched images can be saved and shared to social networks right away. For more sketch effects you’ll have to spend a few dollars and buy the paid version of Photo Sketch.

Photo Sketch by Sweet Sugar
Word that best describes Photo Sketch by Sweet Sugar would be simplicity. Apart from a selection to create either a new photo or select existing one from the gallery, there’s nothing to tweak.
Once a photo is imported it’s automatically converted into a sketch leaving you only with options to save the sketching and to share it using social buttons.

Sketch Me – Photo to sketch
Sketch Me – Photo to sketch has a bit more options than Photo Sketch by Sweet Sugar, but it’s still very simple when compared with all the other sketching apps that I covered.
One option, one step was added and that option is the style selection. 7 sketching styles to choose from are presented to you after selecting an image. Created image can be saved or shared via social networks.

Conclusion
I pick Photo Sketch by Sweet Sugar and Sketch Me (the last app from the list). These two are my choices because they work great and they are very simple to setup. Let me know what your thoughts are in the comment section down below.
