IrfanView is a good image viewer, converter, and has many other features. However, those who want alternatives to this software, here are some good free products. Most of these image viewers and converters cover many features of IrfanView, such as: batch convert and rename images, play slideshow, add watermark, capture the screenshots, add different effects to photos. Other than these features, you can also find unique features with some of these software. For example, you can make photo collage, organize images, open RAW format images, add comments, play animated GIF, and more. Lets start with the first free IrfanView alternative available in this list.

Fotor
Fotor is an all in one image viewer, editor, enhancer, and collage maker software. I personally liked this software. You can view images, convert, resize, crop images, add text to images, and preview original and edited image. Apart from this, you can choose from various beautiful effects to enhance your photos. Borders and effects can be applied to multiple images together. Option to open and edit RAW images is also present, which increases its importance.
Two unique features are also available in this software: Collage and Batch. Using Collage feature, you can either create photo collage in free style mode or using a particular template. Batch feature of this software let you bulk resize, rename, and convert images. Although only few formats are supported for image conversion, but this batch resize feature is not available in IrfanView that makes it a good alternative to IrfanView.

FastStone Image Viewer is also a handy alternative to IrfanView . You can use it to see thumbnails of all the images, organize your images, capture and save snapshots, rotate, and set colors of images. Options to bulk rename and convert images are also present. Moreover, you can play and save slideshow as exe file.
One interesting feature I found is that you can compare up to 4 images simultaneously. Apart from this, many valuable features that are available in IrfanView are also present in this software. For example, you can watermark images, apply effects (7 different effects), annotate your images, etc. Annotating is not possible in IrfanView unless you install a plugin, but FastStone Image Viewer comes with built-in annotator.

Viu 2
Viu 2 (beta) is an image browser and viewer software. It can be used to bulk resize and rename images. Image conversion feature is also available, but unfortunately you can convert images in JPG format only. It provides a beautiful interface to explore, view images, and play slideshow. All other basic features, say rotate and flip images, sort images, update thumbnails of images, are also available. Apart from that, Viu 2 also supports Windows Shell integration (Ctrl+Right Click gives you access to the Windows Shell context menu, whereas a simple right click gives access to the program’s context menu). What’s more, you can directly drag and drop images from one location to another via the program’s interface, and the changes will be reflected in their actual locations on the hard drive.
