SMART (Service Management And RealEasy Tweaking) is a free utility for Windows that lets you manage the services that run under Windows. You can enable or disable any service for manual tweaking, or even choose from a set of pre-set service configurations.
SMART was originally released for Windows 7, but now works on Windows Vista and Windows XP as well.
Advanced users would know that Windows provides a complete dashboard to control all the services. However, that is not easy to use, and needs some advanced knowledge. This is where SMART helps.
SMART provides a very easy to understand interface to manage Windows services. SMART provides following features:
- Click on a service to get more information about that service.
- Right click on the service to locate executable file, to find out exactly which program is running.
- Just double click on a service to start or stop it.
The best part of SMART is that it comes with a set of pre-configured service settings that you can use to quickly manage services. The “Safe” configuration is a safe configuration, while “Tweaked” and “Advanced Settings” are for more advanced users. You can even revert to Windows default settings.
SMART comes with an option to create a restore point, so that you do not end up messing your system.
SMART comes from Windows Club, the makers of Quick Restore Maker.
