SoundCloud Controller is a free Chrome extension to control SoundCloud tracks using a small panel. You will be able to play/pause a track, switch to next and previous tracks, and toggle repeat the current song using that panel. This is helpful when you are working on some other tab in Chrome and want to change or pause the SoundCloud track without switching to that particular tab.
Apart from that, you can also set Global hotkeys to pause/resume a song, go to next or previous track, etc. The benefit of settings the global hotkeys is that even when you are working on some other browser for the time being or on the desktop, you will be able to control SoundCloud tracks playing in your Chrome browser.
Above you can see how easily I was able to switch to tracks and pause/resume a SoundCloud track without accessing the tab where SoundCloud is opened.

Using This Free SoundCloud Controller Chrome Extension:
Here is the homepage link of this Chrome extension. Install the extension and its icon will appear at the top right side.
Now play some track on SoundCloud. After that, switch to some other tab and click the extension icon to open its control panel. There you will see the current song that you played on SoundCloud. Now it is completely your wish whether you want to pause the song, set it to repeat mode, or switch to other tracks.
To set global hotkeys, you need to access “Extension Manager” and scroll down to find ‘Keyboard shortcuts‘ option. Clicking that option will open a pop-up. After that, you can find SoundCloud Controller and set hotkeys for different actions. You also need to select Global option for each individual hotkey.
If you want, you can also select ‘In Chrome’ option, but then hotkeys will work only when your active window is Chrome browser. So, choose any option as per your need. Press OK to save the changes.
