U.S National Park Service website is a treasure of photos and videos taken from various National Parks and National Forests. The multimedia gallery of the website is a great resource for finding high quality pictures of various parks and forests. You can easily download photos and videos from National Parks & National Forests for free. The media in public domain can be downloaded for free.
The U.S National Park Services have a lot of parks and forests under their care. The multi media gallery has over 2000 photos and videos from several parks and forests. Some of these photos and videos are truly breathtaking. You do need to explore and look for yourself.
When you reach the National Park Service website, go to its multimedia gallery and you will see a page like the one you see in the screenshot above. This page explains in brief what all pictures and media you will find on the website. For each one you can just click on the link and visit its page. Like for historic photos, you can just click the link given and go and browse the results which come up.
There is also a multimedia search option at the top of the page, where you can search for media based on keyword, location, or file type. The multimedia search page looks like the screenshot below.
You will also see options on the left side to browse photos, videos, audio, and webcam. Each of these has a link, which will open a page with all relevant things when clicked. Below this menu there are links for various national parks which you can visit by clicking on them.
The search results are displayed like shown in the screenshot above. You are shown a small image with a small description, along with type of media, and credit to the photographer. When you click on the image it will open up in a larger print like the one shown in the screenshot below.
Below the photo you will find details like date the photo was created, link to download the file, and usage information. Majority of the multimedia gallery resources are in the public domain. So all the public domain pictures and videos will have a download link given below the media. The media that is not in the public domain does not have a download link in them. The license and re-use information is clearly listed below every picture or video.
