InstantFox is a free Firefox plugin that lets you search from Firefox address bar. If you love to search directly from address bar of Google Chrome, now you can get the same experience in Firefox with InstantFox. A similar plugin we reviewed earlier is InstantFirefox.
Once you install this plugin, you will be able to search directly from Firefox Address bar. To do a Google search, just type “g” and then start typing your search query. InstantFox will start showing you results as soon as you start typing, so it provides a true instant search experience.
InstantFox also lets you perform many other different type of searches. Here are some of qualifiers that you can prefix to your search query:
- g is for Google Search
- i is for Google Images
- m is for Google Maps
- y is for Youtube
- t is for Twitter
- w is for Wikipedia
- a is for Amazon
- e is for eBay
- b is for Bing
- yh is for Yahoo
- wa is for Wolframalpha
- f is for Weather Forecast
- c is for Calulator
As you would notice from the list above, you can also directly do Amazon search, ebay search, Bing search, or even Wikipedia search from Firefox address bar.
