LeafPic is a free Android gallery app that lets you password protect albums as well as hide albums. This app is quite similar to the built-in Android gallery app for viewing media files, but it also offers powerful features using which you’ll be able to protect your albums with a password and also hide the albums from the gallery. Hiding albums using this app will also make the albums inaccessible from other apps. However, it gives you an option to hide albums from gallery only as well. Apart from that, you can also easily manage your media files like copy files, move, edit images, rename, etc.
It comes with an immersive and material designed interface with grid-based layouts, responsive transitions, and decent padding. Unlike other gallery apps for Android, you can also customize the interface in any way you want with 50 primary colors for UI, 3 different themes, 9 accent colors for UI details and widgets, translucent status bar, etc.
Using this Android Gallery App to Password Protect Albums and Hide Albums:
When you open up the app for the first time, you’ll see a simple interface which is quite similar to the native Android gallery. Now, to hide any album, simply press and hold on the album and then tap on the “Dots” icon at the top. After that, select the option hide from the list. As soon as you do that, a popup dialog will appear with a warning message that hiding this album will also make the files inaccessible from other apps.
If you want to hide the album from the gallery as well as make them inaccessible from other apps, then hit the “Hide” button. In the popup dialog, you will also see an “Exclude” button using which you can hide the album from the gallery but keep it accessible from other apps.
Now, let us talk about how to protect albums with a password and set a password prompt for deleting files. As mentioned, you can only protect hidden albums with a password and set the same password for deleting files. To protect hidden albums or set a password for deleting, simply tap on the hamburger icon at the top-left corner and then select the option “Settings”. After that, scroll down to the “General” settings section and tap on the option where it says “Security”.
As soon as you do that, the security screen will appear with a section named “Use Password For” along with the option “Access by Password”. Tap on this option to set up a new password. Under the “Use Password For” section, you will see two different options as Hidden Folders and Delete. Enabling the fist option will protect your hidden albums with the password, whereas, enabling the second option will set the password for deleting files from the gallery.

Change Interface Color:
One of the best features of this gallery app is that you can customize the media gallery completely by changing primary colors, theme, accent color, enable customization on media viewer, enable translucent status bar, and colored navigation bar. You can choose from 3 different themes, 50 primary colors, and 9 accent colors.
Media Viewer Options:
Under the “Media Viewer” section, you’ll be able to see two different options named, “High Brightness” and “Force use sensor for orientation”. The first option will maximize the brightness when viewing media in the gallery, whereas, the other option will forcefully rotate your screen even when the orientation is locked.

If you’re looking for an Android gallery app with the options to hide albums and password protect them, then using “LeafPic” would probably the best option for you. Apart from letting you hide albums and protect them with a password, it also allows you to customize the entire look of the gallery. Personally, I think it is a useful app for all the Android users out there, as it can be used to protect private media files and also hide them from others.
