CDisplay Ex is a free CBR reader with slideshow, bookmarks, and many other features to make your comic book reading experience amazing. The freeware is completely free and available for Windows PC. The main thing about this free CBR reader is that it provides a lot of options which are mainly focused on enhancing the reading experience. Apart from CBR, it also supports CBZ, PDF, and Manga file format.
You can save any particular page of the opened comic book as an image file in JPEG, PNG, BMP, or GIF image format.
It includes options for resuming the last opened file, resume recently opened files, load previous/next file, full-screen mode and full desktop mode. It also comes with resizing algorithm, auto color, Japanese method, magnifier, scroll bar, etc..
Using Free CBR Reader with Slideshow, Bookmark Feature:
The CDisplay Ex supports opening of comic books or any supported file format by simply drag and drop. Alternatively, you can also go for the traditional way of opening the file by clicking on File menu. On opening the file, you will see the interface shown in the screenshot below.
At the top, there are 3 options: File, Read, and Options.
File:
Under File menu, you will find options related for File opening and accessing. Some of the options are: Load File, Open Recent, Open Recent, Load Next/Previous, etc.. Among all these options, one unique feature is Save to File.
This option lets you save individual pages of currently opened file as an image. You can save the image in JPEG, PNG, BMP or GIF image format. You only have to click on the option and choose the location where you want to save the image.
Read:
As the name suggests, you will find all those options here which are related to the reading of the comic book. They help you in personalizing the reading experience as per your preference so that you can enjoy your comics to the maximum. Generally, it has a common function related to switching between pages of comics but there are 4 main options: Bookmarks, Thumbnail, Slider, and Automatic Slideshow.
- Bookmarks: This option lets you add bookmark to any particular page so that you can resume reading the comics without starting it from the beginning.
- Thumbnail: This option displays a thumbnail of all the pages on the left side which helps you in faster access to your favorite or desired page of the comic.
- Slider: It gives you a slider at the bottom of the interface which you can use to slide through the image.
- Automatic Slideshow: This option is really an awesome option as it enables you to sit back and read the comics. It plays the slideshow of the comics with all the pages being flipped automatically. Your only job is to read the comic and enjoy.
Options:
Here, you will find some miscellaneous options like to zoom in, zoom out, Rotate, Resize, Fit to screen, Fit to Portrait/Landscape, Auto Color, Magnifier, and many other options.

CDisplay Ex is an awesome free CBR reader which makes it really easy and fun to read comics. I really loved the feature of adding bookmark and automatic slideshow.
