Turtl is a free Firefox add-on that lets you store all your notes, bookmarks, web links, images in a single place, and auto encrypts all your data for security. You can even share data or ideas with people to collaborate together. It provides RSA encryption for sharing the data with people and client-side AES encryption for data stored by you. You need to create a free account with Turtl and then you can add any online image, bookmarks, or notes to access from anywhere.

All images, bookmarks, web links are added as ‘Note’ into categories (known as board). For each Note, you can add tags to quickly filter added notes. With Turtl, you can access all your important Firefox stuff anywhere in the world. And your data remains encrypted even on servers, which decrypts for you when you login again.

Above screenshot shows all the Notes saved using Turtl. It’s a completely free add-on for Firefox (as well as for Google Chrome) and no browser restart is required to use Turtl.

How To Use Turtle To Store and Organize Web Links, Bookmarks, Images?

Add this extension (or add-on) to your Firefox browser and create a new account on Turtl to use it. You need to click on extension icon of Turtl (available at top right corner) for creating an account with a username and password. After this, login to your Turtl account to activate it.

Now whenever you want to bookmark any online image or website to store on your Turtl account, just click on Turtl icon and tap on Bookmark this page.

While using it for the first time, it will ask you to create a board. Board stores all the bookmarks you need to store. So create a board and move further.

In the next step, you can either directly save your bookmark (or Note) or you can edit it accordingly. Such as you can change URL, change or add a new board, bookmark description, title, and can also add tags to notes. Tags are quite helpful to quickly search a Note from a whole bunch of added notes. After performing changes, you can hit on Add note button, and your note will be saved to your Turtl account.

In the similar way, you can add more and more notes.

Whenever you need to access your saved Notes (no matter wherever you are), just login to Turtl using Firefox browser, and click on Open Turtl option using extension icon. All your saved bookmarks will be available in front of you. You can select any Board and can access all notes stored in that board. Moreover, any note can be edited anytime or can be moved to any other board.

By default, your Turtl account remains private and hidden. But you can make it visible for other users for sharing data, thoughts and ideas by registering with an email id and a unique name.

Each board created by you can be shared with any person you want. Just invite your friend on Turtl using his/her email id (registered with Turtl) and share your board. Although it’s a good feature but didn’t work in my case. It send the request but didn’t show any invitation at the Invites option at the receiver end.
