Smart Translate is a free Chrome extension to translate into multiple languages at once. You can use this Chrome extension to translate words and text in up to 3 different languages at once. This Chrome extension uses Glosbe.com API for translation purposes. It offers 35+ different languages like Chinese, French, Arabic, Hindi, etc to choose from.
You can select any 4 languages out of these 35+ languages to translate text or word in one language to other 3 languages, as you can see in the main screenshot below.
The main limitation of this multi-language translator Chrome extension is that you can only use it to get translations in 3 different languages. How to use this multilingual Chrome extension to translate into multiple languages at once in Chrome:
Smart Translate is a free Chrome extension which makes translating text into multiple languages in Chrome a really easy task. You just have to select 4 languages from its options and then you can translate text and words into the selected languages. However, it gives you the option to change the selected languages later in its preferences. It would have been really great if it allowed or supported to select more number of languages for translating into multiple languages at once. But still it is a very good Chrome extension and I will recommend it to anyone who wants to learn foreign languages.
Unfortunately, you can’t use this free Chrome extension to translate a specified text by you. As when you will type into its main interface for translating, it will automatically show some closely related suggestions related to your typed in text. You have to select a suggestion from the list and it will then show its translation in other selected languages. Well, during my testing of this Chrome extension, I found it quite useful for translating single words or phrases. You can face some problems if you want to use to for translating sentences due to its auto-suggestion feature.
Let’s now see the steps to translate text or words into multiple languages using this free Chrome extension:
Step 1: Download Smart Translate from the link provided at the end of this review. After that, select 4 languages from its Options and then click on the Apply button to save your preferences.
Step 2: Now, click on its Chrome extension icon and start typing a word or phrase you want to translate. As I mentioned, it will then show some suggestions, you have to select a suggestion from the list and it will then show the translations right within its interface, as shown in the main screenshot of this review.

Smart Translate is a free Chrome extension to translate words and text into multiple languages at once. However, you can just use it to translate text up to 3 languages at once but it is surely handy extension if you want to translate into multiple languages right with Google Chrome.
