Virtual Nerd Mobile Math is a free official iPhone app which lets you access the Virtual Nerd and Pearson Mathematics Program tutorials from anywhere and anytime.
For those who don’t know about Virtual Nerd, I would like to tell them Virtual Nerd is a website which provides 2-3 minute video tutorials on various Math topics (including AST Math and SAT Math) for middle school and high school students. The website mainly focuses on those topics which confuse students more often than the others. The Virtual Nerd was founded in 2008 and it was acquired by Pearson in 2013.
Talking about the app, you can search for the topics by standard, topic, or Pearson Mathematics Program. The app has all the tutorials well categorized under different categories and sub-categories. You will not face any problem in finding the topic of your choice. The app also lets you to mark the tutorials, loved by you, as Favorites so that you can access them anytime without wasting your time on searching them again.
Using This Free iPhone App To Watch Virtual Nerd Video Tutorials:
You can get the Virtual Nerd Mobile Math either by searching on iTunes App Store or by clicking on link given at the end of this review. The most brilliant thing about the Virtual Nerd Mobile Math app is that you don’t need to register with the app to use any of its features. You can access any of the feature of the app without any restrictions. The home screen of the app has 3 options: Pearson Mathematics Program, Common Core, and Virtual Nerd.
- Pearson Mathematics Program: This option lets you view the video tutorial from the Pearson Mathematics Program. You can choose from 9 categories Algebra (1 & 2), Geometry, Integrated HS Math (1, 2, & 3), and Digits (Grade 6, 7, & 8) which also have further topics. If you want to change the category selected by you later, then you can do so by only resetting the app.
- Common Core: The Common Core option lets you browse the categories on the basis of standard. You can choose video tutorial from Grade 1-8 and High School. The High School has video tutorials for following modules: Algebra, Functions, Geometry, and Statistics & Probability. You can further filter your module more to get access to the specific topic of your interest.
- Virtual Nerd: The last option lets you browse the tutorials on the basis of Topics. It has two sub-options: By Grade and By Assessment. The Grade section has following topics: Grade 6-8 Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry. While the Assessment section has video tutorials for ACT math and SAT Math.
To view any tutorial, you just need to look for the topic of your choice by going through different categories and sub-categories. Don’t worry, the app has organized all the topics in such a manner that it will not take more than 45 seconds to reach the topic you want to view. Instead, you can also search for the topic by using the search bar at the top of the screen. When you have found the video tutorial of the topic, simply tap to play it.
While viewing the tutorial, if you find it good then you can also add it to your Favorites section by tapping on the Heart icon. To access your Favorite tutorials, just tap on the Heart icon at the bottom dock of the screen. The Gear icon next to it is the Settings option. You can go to Settings option for resetting the app or clearing all the tutorials in Favorites option.
