iDump is a nice free software that lets you transfer songs from your iPod to your PC without using iTunes. iDump is pretty small in size, and very easy to use. It is just 1 MB in size, and you can even keep it in root folder of your iPod itself. So, you can connect your iPod to any PC to transfer songs, without needing iTunes.

great info up there but i was wondering about sumthing…i got a 2nd hand ipod from my friend and he has apps on there alread and im scared that if i sync the ipod with my pc, it will erase all the kewl games apps thats already on it. so is there a way for me to take the apps off then sync it with my pc and then put the apps back on?
