Netxxrx is a free desktop utility that displays network usage in real time on your desktop. This bandwidth monitoring software shows number of bytes sent and number of bytes received, and it keeps updating every second. This gives you a quick overview of network usage in real time.
Netxxrx can also show CPU usage in addition to network bandwidth usage. What I like best about Netxxrx is it integrates with desktop, and shows up there in an unobtrusive manner. Whenever you need to see your bandwidth usage, you just need to head over to desktop.
