The Instagram extension does add a permanent ad at the bottom of the window, which is not very distracting and is hardly noticeable. Also, you would notice a picture ad in your feed after every 2 or 3 pictures, which might be a bit annoying.
There is no option to upload a picture to your Instagram account, you can browse, comment and like though. Uploading a picture option would have been a additional benefit to this extension.
