“Ok Google” now comes to PC with Google Voice Search Hotword Chrome Extension.
You probably might be aware that Google introduced voice search feature on some versions of Android and Google Glass by letting you do a Google Search by just speaking “Ok Google”. Now, Google has enabled that feature on PC as well by using this Google Voice Search extension for Chrome. You do not have to type anything on Google when you using Chrome browser; just add this extension and search by speaking. It is a super easy extension which even small kids can use easily. All you have to make sure is that you have a microphone attached to your system, before using this. You can follow the link given in the end to add this extension to your browser.

Search Google With Your Voice
As you can see in the above inserted video, using this Chrome extension is very simple and easy. After you add it to the Google Chrome browser , a settings page appears where you can read the instructions and enable or disable a few options. There is no interface or other options. Simply attach a microphone and you are all set to go.
The next time you open the Google homepage, a microphone icon will appear in the search bar signalling that the extension is active. You have to start by saying Ok Google and then speak what you want to search. Your words will be automatically typed in real time as you speak and the results for your search will be shown like usual.
There are two types of icons that appear on the search bar (shown in the screenshot below), after you have added this Google voice search extension. The first type of icon in the below screenshot signifies that instead of saying OK Google, you have to click on that icon and then speak. Whereas, if the second type of icon appears, you just have to say OK Google and speak what you want to search. This can be controlled in the settings menu.
This Google voice search icon will only appear in places where it can function. In other places it will not be available.

Google Voice Search Hotword is a very nice extension that provides a completely fresh alternative for web surfing on PC. The only problem I faced while using this extension was that I could not remove it from my browser. Even after I removed the extension from my browser, it kept running.
