In this post, you will learn how to generate audio and video call links on WhatsApp to join calls automatically. Yesterday WhatsApp rolled out this new feature “Call Links” that you can now use to create video call links just like Google Meet and Zoom. Share the links to participants and let them join asynchronously. Now, you don’t need to call all your teammates at the same time and wait for them to pick up the call.
The option to create the “Call Links” is available in the Calls section on the main screen of WhatsApp. This feature has just been launched and is being rolled out slowly which is why not everyone has it. But by the end of this week, all WhatsApp users will be able to generate call links.
This is a very convenient feature and will help organize team meetings or video calls in friend circles. However, do note that this feature will not change the video call participant limit. Still only 8 people will be able to join the call even if you have sent out the link to more than 8 people.
How to Generate Video Call Links on WhatsApp to Join Calls?
Just upgrade your WhatsApp to the latest version and hopefully you will get this feature. And when you have this, just go to the Calls section and there it will show you an option to generate a link for creating a call.
Now, after you have the link, you just send it to anybody. People can start joining the call and then you can continue to the main video call. After joining the call, you are free to do anything you like.
All the calls that were initiated through a link will be highlighted separately. You will see an extra URL beneath them as you can see in the screenshot below.
This is it. In this way, you can now easily generate call links on WhatsApp. The process is very simple and straightforward. All you need to do is just tap on the new link creation option in Calls and it will generate a link for you to share. This is as simple as that.
Final thoughts:
As a WhatsApp user if you wanted to create video call links just like other popular meeting apps such as Skype, Google Meet, and Zoom then it will be good news for you. Meta has now added this as a built-in feature and will be available shortly to all users in the coming days.
