Video Cutter & Compressor is a free Windows 10 video editor app which lets you trim your videos as well as compress the size of your videos. The videos can also be cropped for Instagram, Vine or YouTube. The compressed videos can be saved to your device in MP4 or WMV format.
The Windows video editor app can be downloaded from the Windows 10 store or from the link given at the end of this article. When you start the app you will come across the interface as shown in the below screenshot.
As you can see, you can either upload a already existing video or create one using your devices camera. Once you upload a video your screen will look like the screenshot below.
Now the options given at the bottom of the app window are mostly available with the paid version of the app like adjust, audio fade, tools are all under the paid version of the app. The trim option and the video fade option are available with the free version and that is exactly what we need. When you click the trim video option a trim tool will open up as shown in the screenshot below.
Now you can either cut the video for Instagram or Vine, or you can just choose the number of seconds you want the video to be for like 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, etc. Once you have done that press the check mark button given at the bottom of the window. After that you can save the video to your device by clicking the save button. This will bring up the window shown in the below screenshot.
Before saving your video you can adjust a few settings like the resolution of the video, the quality of the video, the output format, etc. At the bottom of the window it will show the original file size and the new compressed file size.
Click the save button at the end to save this video to your device.
