SmartSystemMenu is a free software to resize windows to custom size, change transparency and comes with many other features. It adds the option to tweak various Window settings in the right-click menu of the title bar. You just right click on the title bar to see those options and then choose the one that you want. This is a simple software that comes as a portable tool that you can use on Windows 10. Here you only have to get EXE file and run it. It is simple as that. After launching the app, you will start seeing the various options that it adds in a window. However, it doesn’t work on all type of Windows. For now, it doesn’t work on a window whose system menu is managed by its own process such as File Explorer.
After you launch this simple utility, it runs in background and you can see its system tray icon there. I didn’t have any luck in using this tool on Windows 8 but it worked fine on Windows 10. So, if you are on Windows 10 then you can grab it and start using it to do whatever you want. One simple use case of the app can be in testing desktop applications with custom window size.

You can download this software from here and then you can simply run it. Wait for a few second and when you see its tray icon there then you are all ready to use it. Do note that, in order to make it work, you will have to make sure that you run it as an administrator.
Now, to see all the options that it has, simply open a program and then right click on the title bar. Use any option that you want and then corresponding operation will be applied immediately. Here you can also see all the option that it offers you for the current window, just look at the following screenshot.
For example, you can see the example of the Notepad window with 50% transparency. To make any program window transparent, you simply choose any opacity value from the Transparency option in its menu.
Similarly, you can use other options that it adds there. You can use the custom resize option to resize any program window on which it works to a custom size. There are some predefined designs as well that you can see in the menu that it adds and then you are free to whatever you want.

If you like desktop enhancement utilities then you will like SmartSystemMenu too. It combines some really useful features of various software in a single tool which is portable as well. I liked the simplicity of the tool, but I am a bit disappointed that it doesn’t work on every window. But it is all we have and I hope maybe in the future updates, it will start working on other version of Windows and all type of Windows.
