Earlier I had reviewed PsykoPaint – a free online image editor that converts your images to paintings. FotoSketcher is a similar free software that can be used to convert your photos to sketches. It can create many different type of sketches – pencil sketch, pen and ink drawing, various painting renderings.
FotoSketcher is very easy to use. You just select the photo that you want to work with, select the sketch type, and tweak a few settings. FotoSketcher then immediately prepares your sketch. FotoSketcher shows the original image and the new sketched image side by side. So, you can easily compare and tweak the output.
If you are a fan of the small kiosks in shopping malls that can create your sketches, you are going to love FotoSketcher. Totally free, and so easy to use. The results are pretty good too. You can use the sketches to put on your walls, create greeting cards, or put on gifts to your friends. FotoSketcher does not have image editing features. For that, you can try Paint.Net or IrfanView.
