In this article, I have compiled a list of 3 free software to extract meta tags from all pages of website. You can specify a domain URL to get your website pages crawled and extract meta keywords of multiple web pages at once. Most of the software in this list also lets you export these meta keywords as PDF, CSV, etc.. The best part is that all of them are full-fledged SEO analysis software that take care of every on-page SEO element of your website and can notify you about the errors. IziSEO:
IziSEO is the first free software to extract meta tags from web pages. It is a complete SEO analysis software which can also generate a site audit report which usually suggests about on-page SEO optimization. I have already covered this aspect of IziSEO in the article linked above, go ahead and read it to know what type of SEO optimizations it can suggest for your site. You can also use it to bulk extract meta tags of your website pages. However, in its free version, it will only crawl first 300 pages of your website and then display all their HTML elements on its interface including meta tags, as highlighted in the screenshot above.
It is pretty easy to get started with IziSEO; download it from the link above and then install it. After that, open it and create a new project (Project>>New). Now, all you need to do is specify a website URL in the URL box and then hit the “Start” button. IziSEO will then crawl the specified website and bring forth all HTML elements like meta keywords, meta description, title, status, etc. of the first 300 pages. This information is displayed in a tabular format on its interface. To export the extracted meta keywords, click on the “PDF” button on its interface, as shown in the screenshot below. You can also choose to export meta tags in a CSV file.
Screaming Frog SEO Spider:
Screaming Frog SEO Spider is a very popular SEO analysis software which can also be used to bulk extract meta keywords from pages of a domain or just a specific web page. You can export the extracted meta tags in CSV, XLS, and XLSX files. In its free version, it can crawl the first 500 web pages of a website and return all the HTML elements of these pages including meta tags, description, title, HTTP status, etc. Most importantly, it can also notify you about the on-page SEO errors. So, with meta tags extraction, you can also generate several SEO reports like images missing Alt tag, meta description not found, and so on. Getting started with Screaming Frog SEO Spider is quite straightforward; download and install it from the link above and then open it. Now, all you have to do is enter a URL in the URL box at the top of its interface and then click on the “Start” button. It will then start crawling the specified link and display all HTML elements of the discovered web pages on its main interface, as shown above. Now, in order to save the extracted meta keywords, click on the “Export” button. This will pop up a dialog box, from which you can select the path where you want to save the SEO report with all the extracted meta keywords.
Visual SEO Studio:
Visual SEO Studio is the last meta keywords extractor software on my list to extract meta tags from website pages. With it, you can either bulk extract meta keywords from web pages of a domain or just a specific web page. Similar to other SEO analysis software, it crawls a website or page and displays all HTML elements important for SEO perspective e.g. meta tags, description, title, H1, etc. Also, it can be used to perform an SEO audit of a website as it can generate on-page SEO analysis report which can be exported as XLS or CSV format. However, there is no option to export all extracted meta tags at once. What you can do is copy meta tags to export them manually.
Download it from the link provided above and then install it. After that, open it and create a new project. Now, simply crawl a website from its “Crawl a site…” section. You will just have to specify a URL and then hit the crawl button. It will then start crawling the website and display crawled pages URL on its interface. Wait for the crawling process to be over and once it is done, move to the “Crawl View” section from the left panel.
In “Crawl View” section, you will see all the crawled pages and when you will select anyone of them its “Properties” dialog box will appear. From this dialog box, you can know about the HTML elements of the page and including meta tag keywords, as shown above.
