Update 2022: This website no longer exists now. We recommend you to try some other alternative instead.
TweetSwitch is a free online service that lets you send and receive tweets from Instant Messengers like Yahoo, Gtalk, Skype, AIM, and Windows Live Messenger. Apart from that, TweetSwitch also lets you send and receive tweets using email. The best part of using TweetSwitch: you do not have to download or install anything, and TweetSwitch is completely free.
I earlier reviewed a free service called TwitterAlerts that sends you Twitter updates on your Yahoo Messenger. TweetSwitch goes even farther than that, and lets you use many more IM to send and receive tweets.
TweetSwitch lets you send and receive tweets using following IM:
- Yahoo Messenger
- Google Talk
- AIM
- Windows Live Messenger
- Skype
Apart from this, TweetSwitch also lets you send and receive tweets using email.
TweetSwitch is extremely easy to use. First you create a free account on TweetSwitch. Then, you specify 3 preferred methods to receive tweets. For example, you can specify first method as Yahoo Messenger, second as Google Talk, and third as Email.
TweetSwitch will send you your Twitter updates using your first method. If you are offline, then it will attempt using second method, and then third.[subscribe-to-us]
To send tweets using TweetSwitch is extremely easy as well. You start with adding TweetSwitch as a contact in your IMs. Then, whenever you want to send a tweet, you just send a message to your TweetSwitch contact, and that will be posted on Twitter. You can also send DMs using TweetSwitch.
To send tweets using email, you can send an email to TweetSwitch email address from your email client, with tweet in subject line. Another option of sending tweets using Email is Btween.Us that lets you post on Twitter as well as Facebook from email.
TweetSwitch is easy to use, and works very well.
