Here is a list of 4 Best Free websites that let you watch TV Episodes online for Free. These websites provide most of the popular TV shows, and you can watch tv shows online.
If you want to want to watch and download HD Videos for free, you can also try Miro and Vuze.
1) Hulu
Hulu is unarguably one of the most popular website to watch episodes of TV shows online. Hulu is a joint venture between NBC, Fox, and ABC. These networks have the library of the best TV shows, and they provide some of them for Hulu. Apart from TV episodes, Hulu also provides some movies to watch online for free.
Hulu is ad supported, so you will see some ads while watching TV episodes. However, I don’t find the ads intrusive at all, and they are much less than compared to what I would see on TV. In lieu of watching a couple of ads, I get to watch TV episodes of some of the best shows for free, anytime I want.
Hulu is currently available only in US. Hulu videos are in Flash format, so they run in most popular browsers, and even in not so popular browsers.
Hulu also provides a Hulu Desktop that you can install on your computer to watch Hulu videos in even a better way.
If you are in US, and want to watch a TV show online, Hulu should be your first place to start.

2) Spreety
Spreety is another free website that lets you watch episodes of TV shows online. However, instead of providing any content itself, Spreety actually provides links for free tv episodes from all over the web. I tried many links on Spreety, and all of them point to legitimate websites, and all the links worked.
So, if you are not able to find your favorite TV show on Hulu, you can head over to Spreety, and it will give you the link for where the TV episode can be watched online. This would also come handy for those who are not able to watch Hulu because they are not located in US. However, be advised that even Spreety can have some links for Hulu. Still, Spreety is worth trying for if you are not able to find your TV show online.
3) Fancast
Fancast provides lot of TV shows and movies that you watch online for free. Unlike Spreety, Fancast lets you directly brings in the video content, and lets you watch TV shows and movies for free.
Update (28-Aug-2012): Fancast has been shut down.
Like Hulu, Fancast is also ad supported. I could not confirm if Fancast works only for US audidences. If you are located outside US, and Fancast works for you, do mention in comments.
Fancast is completely free, but you might have to create a free account if you want to try a TV show or movie that is meant for mature audiences.

4) SideReel
SideReel is a lot like Spreety. It provides links for watching your favorite TV episodes online. One thing that I liked in SideReel over Spreety is that sometimes it provides multiple links of which full episode can be watched. This is helpful if you find one of the link is not working.
However, what I didn’t like is that for some of the shows I was directly to Amazon to buy the show online for watching it, and in some cases an ad page came in between before I was redirected to vidoes. However, once you get over these minor nuances, SideReel can be a good alternative to Spreety.
Apart from the above mentioned websites to watch TV episodes online for free, there are many other that provide links to online TV episodes. However, I found most of them to be full of ads, or dead links, or providing paid links of Amazon video and Netflix.
The 4 websites mentioned above are a good start for watching full episodes of your favorite TV show online. Online drawback of watching online is that you cannot watch these TV episodes on your media players.
